“In Film Studies you will learn scholarly terms that will enable you to describe what you see on screen in relation to, for instance, camera movements and editing techniques or traditions of screen performance. You will also study the historical development of film as a cultural and technological form and analyse its transformations across the 20th century to the present day.”

"Through experimentation and research you will learn how to contextualize and develop concepts. You will realise your projects by applying skills, techniques, and material knowledge you have developed under the guidance of highly respected and knowledgeable artists and technicians.

Within the major you can elect to specialise in one of several studio areas. You will be encouraged to work across disciplinary boundaries in order to realise your ideas, while also given a grounding in the skills and history of your chosen specialism.
